Arrow Dire Stalker via DL?

I know this probably ought to be in another board, but I'm not entirely sure which. I figure someone will move it the right way...

I'm using a Melandru's Stalker pet at the moment in Pre-Searing Ascalon for killing Charr in the Northlands (levelling up for LDoA)... The pet dies a lot and will probably become Hearty if allowed to level long enough. I don't plan on keeping it.

So the question is this:

Once I get to high enough level to Death-Level effectively... can I Death-Level up the Stalker for the Ranger quest which actually involves getting a first pet.... and then capture the Dire Melandru's Stalker which should theoretically result?

Don't really see why you wouldn't be able to do that. It's just that deathleveling would be least tedious if you could die over and over again at the res shrine, but I don't think there's any shrines too close to the stalkers. Might end up having to do lots of boring running.

here's an easier way to do it:

get your character up to at least level 15. go to post searing and find a stalker there. make sure to bring at least 1 hero. upon finding the stalker, take off all your armor, disable all your hero's skills except resurrect, and tank it. you should be able to get a dire stalker in about an hour or so.

of course, if you want to remain in presearing, you're kinda out of luck. if you can, you can try to aggro the stalker in presearing and pull it to the rez shrine near either master ranger nente, or the other guy that's on the hill. not too sure if the npcs will attack it or not though.

I'm perhaps seeing the problem here.

I might try the post-searing thing... might not.
I thought I might have been mistaking the statue of Melandru by the stalker for a resurrect shrine (given that all the resurrect shrines in Cantha, my usual stalking grounds, have statues of the gods in them).

If I can manage to lure one of the stalkers over to a shrine and get it not to... well... go anywhere (as I recall, the quest stalker doesn't actually move at all unless aggravated, though whether this is because it is rooted to that spot or just set to stand still when not aggroed, I don't rightly know) that might be preferable to the Post-Searing idea though... if only because it won't involve my fighting through to Lion's Arch before going back again.

What does Lion's Arch have to do with anything? There are Stalkers in Old Ascalon.

you probably won't be able to deathlevel the stalker by pulling it to the rez shrine, simply because there's always a monk npc there, which i believe will attempt to heal you. so unless the stalker manages to 1 hit KO you, you simply won't die. i'm not even sure if the stalker can be pulled that far to begin with.

getting to level 15 in post searing is not particularly difficult, but you do need to get a run to LA first. there's a quest there called the settlement of ascalon (or something like that), and you'll get the main characters (devona and co) at the beginning of the quest. use them to cut through the mobs there. since they're technically not henchmen, they do not share exp with you, so you'll level up extremely quick. don't complete the quest, and just keep repeating it from the start until you reach level 18 or so. don't know if you get full loot or not, but if you do, it's also a nice way to make a quick buck.

lastly, remember to set your hero's behavior to "avoid combat", or else it will kill your stalker.

But there aren't Heroes, smart guy. Heroes come from Elona. I get to Elona via Lion's Arch.

Anyhow. Level won't be an issue as I'm planning to do with with my LDoA character... who by definition will already be Level 20.

Perhaps I can find some other res shrine with a Stalker near it and no monks.

Going to post at lvl 15 means no LDoA
